Our guide will meet you early in the morning at your hotel and take you to the TIA for the domestic flight to Lukla. The 35-minute scenic flight will give you beautiful aerial glimpses of Everest and Kanchenjunga. As you land at the Tenzing Hillary airport, the illuminating Mount Kongde Ri (6187 m) will welcome you along with our local crew members comprising guides and porters.
After sharing our luggage and enjoying the breakfast, we now commence our walk towards Phakding. From today, the milky waters of the Dudh Koshi River will guide our way. The trekking trail today is not long and runs mainly downhill so it’s an easy walk.
At the last village of Lukla town, our guide will obtain the Sagarmatha National Park and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permits on your behalf. We will then continue our walk passing the settlements of Chheplung, Chaurikhark, and Thadokoshi with the delightful company of Mt. Khumbila (5761 m).
At Thadokoshi, witness the sparkling Mount Kusum Kangaru (6367m) for a while. Then passing the huge boulders with the Buddhist mantra om mani padme hum carved, we will descend till we reach Ghat. Hiking along the eastern bank of the river, we will finally reach Phakding where we will rest and dine.
The direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla are often prone to diversion to Ramechhap/Manthali Airport especially in spring and autumn due to heavy air traffic. In such case, we will drive to Ramechhap airport for four hours and board a 20-minute flight to Lukla.
Leaving Phakding after breakfast, we will climb along the pine and rhododendron forests to reach Benkar. From here, we will cross the mountain stream and climb the gorge to reach Monjo- the Sagarmatha National Park entry point.
We will now ascend for a while to Jorsalle where we will have our lunch break. Resuming our walk through the forest, we will reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi River and Bhote Koshi River in about 30 to 40 minutes. We will cross the rivers over a Hilary suspension bridge observing the sacred peak of Mount Taboche at 6495 m.
After crossing the bridge, we will climb for about an hour and reach Top Danda (3140 m). Often known to tourists as the Everest Viewpoint, this site offers incredible views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and many more.
Another steep climb for a while and we will reach the famous Namche Market where we will rest for two nights under the starry sky and morning views of Everest, Thamserku, Kangtega, Nuptse, Lhotse, and many other beautiful surrounding mountains.
A good day separated for the first acclimatization at an altitude of more than 3000 m. following the principle of acclimatization, we will climb high and sleep low for which we will hike to Everest View Hotel at 3880 m. it is the world’s highest-situated hotel and takes about a 2 to 3-hour hike from Namche.
Along the ascending route, we can admire the famous peaks of Kongde ri, Khangtega, Pachermo Peak, Tangerito Peak, Samdo Peak, and many others.
Not only the route but the Hotel is like an amphitheater surrounded by the peaks of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, Taboche, Cholatse, and Nuptse. Enjoying a hot cup of coffee here is truly like a surreal experience.
After some time, we will descend to Namche, explore its markets, and retire in our lodge room.
After leaving Namche, we will walk uphill following the untamed water of the Dudh Koshi River. We will then climb down to cross the river over a hanging bridge. We have now entered the valley of Imja Khola.
Walking through the pine, fir, and rhododendron forest, we will arrive at Phungithanga at 3250 m. The village is decorated with characteristic prayer wheels. Enjoying the surroundings and beautiful landscape, we will have our lunch here.
Then a two-hour-long ascent through the rhododendron, pine, and spruce forest, we will reach the flat area of Tengboche monastery. Here we will spend some time exploring the monastery witnessing the breathtaking views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse (8,501 m), Kwangde (6,187 m), Tawachee (6,542 m), Ama Dablam, Kantega, and Thamserku.
After the monastery visit, we will ascend for a while to reach Debuche where we will check into our lodge and rest for the night.
Leaving Debuche, we will begin our short hike today through a wonderful landscape with a continuous view of Ama Dablam which is shaped like a thumb. Today, we have a relatively easy climb without the possibility of feeling altitude sickness. The landscape will also slowly transform and the forest slowly makes way for alpine shrubs.
Initially, we will hike downhill to cross the Imja Khola and reach Pangboche village at 3900 m. The village is decorated with stone houses, colorful prayer flags, and wheels. There is also the oldest monastery here of about more than 400 years old. Here we can also see the Yeti scalp upon request.
Now, we will climb steeply for some time and walk through the potato and barley fields of Dingboche village.
We have a second rest day today giving us plenty of time to acclimatize to the altitude of more than 4000 m. we will walk uphill for about three hours to reach Nagarjun Hill also known as Nangkartshang Hill at 5100m. The hill is the best viewpoint towering above the Dingboche village.
From the top, we can watch the shining peaks of Mt. Makalu, Baruntse, Island Peak, Chopola, Amadablam, Ambigetshen, Thamsherku, Khankaru, Tabuche, Cholatse, Lobuche Peak, and Nirukhang
After enjoying the grand spectacle, we will descend to our lodge in Dingboche for early dinner and rest overnight.
We will start the day by walking uphill for a while when we reach the settlement of yak farmers known as Dusa. After crossing the suspension bridge we will reach Dughla where we will stop for our lunch. This small village offers some magical views of Taboche (6367 m) and Cholatse (6335 m).
We will now start our way up along the moraine slope of Khumbu Glacier. After about an hour’s steep climb, we will reach the top of Thukla La Pass at 4830 m. here, we can see a nice stone pyramid with Tibetan prayer flags. There is also a memorial to people who died in Everest expeditions – from Babu Chhiri Sherpa, who conquered the summit of Everest ten times, to the American mountaineer Scott Fisher.
After offering some prayers, watch the Ama Dablam, Lobuche, and Lobuche Peak Base Camp bestowing their beauty upon us.
Now, we will pass a gurgling stream and leave the Khumbu Glacier behind, we will feel a little short of breath caused by the rarefied air of the highlands. We have reached Lobiche where we will spend the night.
The high point of our Everest Base Camp luxury trek has finally arrived. Leaving Lobuche, we will cross the Khumbu glacier moraine watching the northern slope of Everest, Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and other peaks.
A short climb will take us to Thangma Riju or Lobuche Pass from where we can enjoy a 360-degree view of the snowy mountain landscape. Then a steep climb through the Changri Glacier will give us our first glimpse of Kala Patthar, a black hill at the foot of the Pumori peak.
We will arrive at Gorakshep which is the last village in the Khumbu region with few tea houses. Here, we will keep our backpacks, have lunch, and rest for a while. we will now continue our journey to the foot of Everest through the once-great Gorak Shep Lake.
Now climbing steeply to the top of the ridge, we will arrive at Everest Base Camp where the climbers’ tents stand out brightly against the background of the gray landscape. Nuptse, Lhotse, Khumbutse, and Pumori are the mountains visible from this settlement.
After spending some time here with great climbers, we will return to our lodge in Gorakshep.
This day marks the culmination of our EBC luxury trek. Starting our day early around 4 am, we will climb the glacial path and rocky terrain to reach Kala Patthar. Stop for a while to catch your breath and enjoy the views of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse along the ascent. Slowly Everest reveal to us along the climb.
After about 2 to 3 hours of steep ascent, we will reach Kala Patthar and witness the illuminating sun reflecting its golden light upon Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Lobuche, Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse, and many others.
We will take photos as much as our heart desires. Now we will return to Gorakshep for breakfast. Now, we will descend so that Lobuche arrives just in time and we can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.
From today, we will walk downhill along the familiar path to return to the urban bustling city of Kathmandu. But first, we will descend along the gentle path towards Dingboche and reach Pangboche where we will spend a comfortable night with a delicious dinner.
The familiar descending trail will lead us through Debuche, and Tengboche. From here, we will undertake a steep downhill hike to Phungithanga.
Moving forward, we will overcome a steep climb to Sanasa Village. Further walk will take us to Kyangjina village where we will stop for our lunch. The path from here now is easy till we arrive at Namche. Another beautiful evening to explore the Namche market.

The best times for our Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek are autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) to realize the dream of conquering Everest Base Camp. In particular, trekking at this time, you can admire the beauty of blooming azalea flowers. The sky is also very clear, enough for you to take in the most perfect view of the white Himalayan mountains. The trail will be clear of snow with a lesser chance of precipitation.
Winter (December to February) and summer/Monsoon (June to August) are not particularly suitable due to unfavorable weather conditions, trail blockage, and lodging unavailability.
However, the weather at (EBC) Everest Base Camp is very unpredictable – sometimes weather can be pleasant which can suddenly change with snow and cold winds. Therefore, to ensure your health when conquering this route, you should consider bringing clothes from summer to winter.
Erected at 5364 m above sea level, the Everest Base Camp is situated 200 to 300 away from Kathmandu, Nepal. The high point of our Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek is Kala Patthar at 5548 m while the highest elevation where we will spend the night is at Gorakshep at 5180 m.
As a rule, our starting point is also Lukla at 2800 m altitude staying at the aerial distance of 135 km from Kathmandu. While only 65 km separates Lukla from Everest Base Camp. We begin and end our trek in Lukla within 13 days covering 10 to 12 km per day.
During 13-day hiking days in our EBC luxury trek, we will walk mostly for 5 to 6 hours every day from the morning with an hour break for lunch in the afternoon.
The easiest and shortest walking duration is three hours as we make our way from Lukla to Phakding and Phakding to Lukla. The most challenging and longest walking duration is on day 10 and day 11. on day 10, we will reach Everest Base Camp and on day 11 we climb Kala Patthar.
Located at an altitude of 5364 m above sea level, the Everest Base Camp trek is categorized medium difficult trip in the Everest region. The 13-day continuous trek requires you to have good endurance. On average, each day the trek is about 8-10km, equivalent to 6-7 hours including rest time on the way. The terrain is sometimes uphill and sometimes downhill, but most days the next day is at a higher altitude than the previous day.
Therefore, the higher risk in this trek is of altitude sickness due to the low level of oxygen than that near the sea level. For proper acclimatization, we have planned a rest day at Kathmandu for your first acquaintance with the Nepal atmosphere. Then the second acclimatization day will be at Namche and the third will be at Dingboche. The second and third rest days will be spent following the main principle of hiking high and sleeping low.
In addition, there are also risks of unforeseen weather conditions and chilly weather.
Anyone can successfully trek to Everest Base Camp if they are fit, and share good physical and mental health. The route to EBC means overcoming steep slopes, crossing long suspension bridges, and walking through forests. Therefore, the main thing to remember is to maintain endurance during this journey.
You should also be able to maintain strength over the long term, so considering the division of energy is important. Flexibility and endurance are more important on this hike than strength.
To make your journey pleasant and light for you, we will provide English speaking guide and porter for assistance along the route and in carrying your heavy luggage respectively.
As you know, although EBC does not reach an altitude of 8,848m, the weather and road are quite harsh. Therefore, to make your trip as perfect as possible, you must have solid preparation regarding your health. Start practicing 4-6 weeks before your trip.
You can increase your endurance with cardio exercises such as running, walking, swimming, or cycling. A small tip is to wear a backpack while doing cardio for better results. Exercises like squats, push-ups, and pull-ups can help your muscles become stronger. However, don’t let yourself overexercise. Remember the purpose of this preparation is to increase your body’s endurance and increase your lung capacity.
We can reach Everest Base Camp via several routes of different difficulty levels. If you want to follow the footprints of Tenzing and Hilary and avoid the thrilling flight to Lukla, you can trek from Jiri to Phakding. The path then joins Namche, Dingboche and Lobuche.
On the other hand, you can also integrate the Gokyo Lake trip, the Three Passes trek, and the Tashi Lapcha Pass trek. You can also combine some climbing expeditions with EBC treks such as the Lobuche ascent, and Island Peak climbing.
At an altitude of more than 5000 m, the amount of oxygen remains only 1/3 of that near sea level. Therefore, it is common if you have difficulty breathing due to thin air. If you are not a professional trekker, you will quickly reach your limit and suffer from altitude sickness that can lead to dizziness, headaches, nausea, nosebleeds, and fatigue.
To prepare for altitude shock, in addition to taking medicine, you can practice breathing exercises, yoga is a typical example. Along the trekking route, please drink enough water at least 3 to 4 lt. Daily. You should always walk high and sleep low in addition to proper rest. If your symptoms worsen even after taking medicine, please go down and postpone your journey for a day or two.
In Kathmandu, we will arrange for your accommodation in one of the finest five-star hotels for four nights. From Lukla to Namche Bazaar, we will lodge you in a luxurious guesthouse with all the amenities such as wifi and a hot shower.
However, after Namche, finding such lodges is quite impossible so we will stay in the best available guesthouses or lodges that are shared in pairs. The amenities are pretty basic with a bucket of hot water, and shared facilities of laundry and toilets.
In Kathmandu, we offer free hygienic breakfast with lunch and dinner at your free will and the cost is excluded from our service. During the trek, breakfast, lunch, and dinner with tea will be provided with the option of fried eggs, boiled and scrambled eggs, porridge, garlic soup, dal vat tarkari, momos, fried rice, pizza, pasta, etc.
The cost of alcoholic beverages, desserts, and sweet items like chocolate, cake, pie, and pudding are excluded from our service.
We offer airport pick-up and drop-off and transport to the hotel by private car or van based on our group size. We also offer Kathmandu to Lukla and Lukla t Kathmandu flight.
In the event of flight direction to Ramechhap airport, we will drive you in a private vehicle to Ramechhap.
For communication and internet, you can buy a SIM from Ncell or NTC with 4G service all over Nepal. You can then activate the data package by dialing *17123# from Ncell and *1415# for NTC.
You can also purchase Everest Link Wifi card for the internet with various packages such as 500 MB or 100 MB. A Wi-Fi network is also available in almost every hotel, which is a cheaper option because the price is from 2-4$/hour.
Likewise, the lodges also have electricity and solar panels for a continuous supply of electricity so you can charge your devices (mobile, laptop, camera, etc) which can cost you USD 4 to USD 10 per hour. The higher you go, the more the charging price increases and the charging limit is only 1 hour because there are so many people who need to charge.
We need to obtain a Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit and a Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit for our Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek. We will obtain these permits at Lukla as your representative and the cost is included in our itinerary cost.
(Note: first aid kits & medicine will carrying with our company’s guide during the trekking However, we recommend you to bring your personal first-aid kit)
Everest base camp doesn’t offer the best view of Mount Everest but Gorakshep and Kala Patthar do. They offer a magical view of Everest therefore we have incorporated the Kala Patthar summit climb as well in our program.
Although having insurance when exploring the EBC is not compulsory, purchasing travel insurance is important and indispensable. In an emergency, when you need to descend immediately, having insurance will help you avoid large costs for helicopter and medical ambulance services.
Yes, we can arrange a single room for you but it will cost you an additional price. During the trek, especially after Namche, a single room may not be available particularly when trekking in spring and autumn.
