As we walk further, we will reach the last village of Lukla where we will carry out the required process to obtain the Sagarmatha National Park and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permits.
From here on, our walk will be mostly downhill and relatively easy-paced. We will pass the villages of Cheplung and Ghat and then hike along the eastern shore of the Dudh Koshi River. Shortly, we will arrive in Phakding, where we will get cozy in the warm luxury lodge of Yeti Mountain Home or other comfortable lodging.
Attention
In the busy season of autumn and spring months, and during unfavorable weather conditions, the direct flight to Lukla is diverted to Ramechhap Airport. At this event, we will drive you to Ramechhap, aka Manthali Airport, which is a four-hour drive away. From here, we will fly to Lukla, and the flight will last only 20 minutes.
We will wake up in the morning surrounded by the high mountains in Lukla. After breakfast, we will begin our uphill climb through the cool forest of pine and rhododendrons. From Benkar, we will hike along the steep slope of the rock gorge. Then, crossing the mountain stream, we will arrive at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate of Monjo.
On the classic trail, trekkers cross Monjo and move forward, but we will rest at Monjo for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we will leave Monjo and climb uphill to the village of Jorsalle. From here, we move on further to cross the most iconic and photogenic bridge of the tour, the Hillary Suspension Bridge, over the confluence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers.
Then, we will climb vertically for about an hour to reach Namche Bazaar, from where we can witness the majestic Everest at a distance. We can also see Thamserku, Kangtega, Nuptse, Lhotse, and many other surrounding peaks from this town.
Namche Bazaar is an excellent place to acclimate before going even higher. We will have a delicious breakfast basking in the warm sun with Everest upfront.
Then, we will go for our acclimatization hike to the villages of Khunde and Khumjung. The route offers an incredible panorama of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Everest, and Lhotse. We will explore the Sagarmatha National Park Museum and see the large statue of the first Sherpa to reach Everest- the legendary Tenzing Norgay.
We will then return to our Namche lodge in the afternoon for rest and dinner.
Another rest day to spend in the beautiful town of Namche. Today, we will hike to the iconic Syangboche town, where the Everest View Hotel (3880 m) is located. From the hotel balcony, we can admire Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Taboche and Cholatse.
Then, we will return to Namche Bazaar in the early afternoon, where we will spend the afternoon doing free activities and relaxing.
After enjoying a delightful dinner among the giant Himalayas, we will now proceed for an uphill hike once again, following the gurgling waters of the Dudh Koshi River. After some time, we will climb down, cross the river over a hanging bridge, and set foot in the Imja Khola Valley.
The deep forest of pine, fir, and rhododendrons will then lead us to Phunki Thenga, where the colorful prayer flags and prayer wheels welcome us. We will make this small village our overnight destination for tonight.
After breakfast, we will once again climb for about two hours under the cool shadow of rhododendrons, pine, and spruce forests to reach the Tengboche Monastery. We will take a short break to explore this magnificent monastery and view the breathtaking spectacle of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kwangde, Tawachee, Ama Dablam, Kantega, and Thamserku.
We will resume our climb until we reach Debuche, where we will settle for the night.
Today, we have a relatively easy and wonderful hike with amazing sightings. We will go straight down through a dense jungle-like forest, where the rhododendrons show themselves to us in all their glory.
After that, we will cross the Imja Khola River over a wonderful suspension bridge, and then our path will curve steeply upwards. This path offers us an incredible view of the most spectacular mountains, Ama Dablam.
Passing many very old stupas and shrines, we will arrive at the religious center of Pangboche, known for the 400-year-old monastery with Yeti scalp.
From Pangboche, we have a short walk to Dingboche. On our hike today, we will notice the gradual transformation of deep forests into alpine shrubs. Progressing along the route high above the river, we will pass the road leading to the Ama Dablam base camp, but we will continue towards Dingboche with a steep walk.
After about three hours, we will reach Dingboche, where Hotel Tashi Delek or Dingboche Resort will be awaiting our arrival.
Today is an important acclimatization day at an altitude of above 4000 m. We will use the principle of climbing high and sleeping low to properly adapt to high altitudes.
After breakfast, we will climb the route for about three hours to reach the summit of Nangkartshang Hill (Nagarjun Hill) at 5100 m. Mt. Makalu, Baruntse, Island Peak, Amadablam, Thamsherku, Tabuche, Cholatse, and Lobuche Peak will rise above our eyes at the summit of the Hill.
After enjoying the view, we will climb down to our accommodation, and there will be free time to rest until the evening.
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to Dingboche and then head towards Thukla. The route to Thukla or Dughla is pleasantly easy, with a world-class panorama. After climbing for a while, we will reach the yak pasture of Dusa. From here, we will cross the steel bridge and reach Dughla for our overnight stay.
We will leave the comfort of Dughla and begin our uphill hike towards Lobuche along the moraine of the famous Khumbu Glacier. As we progress by climbing on our trail, suddenly, many prayer flags will appear on our way with numerous piles of stone. This is the Thukla Pass at 4830 m, where the memorials are erected in memory of climbers who died during various Himalayan expeditions.
The Pass also offers remarkable views of Ama Dablam, Lobuche, and Lobuche Peak Base Camp. After a short break at the Pass, we will enter the realm of stone and snow. Then, we will continue along the stream on pleasant, not-too-steep terrain until we reach our next accommodation, Lobuche.
After breakfast, we will continue our incredible journey from Lobuche to Gorakshep. We will continue walking along the glacial moraine of Khumbu Glacier, enjoying the impressive views of Everest, Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Nuptse.
A brief climb will take us to Lobuche Pass, where we can witness the magical Lobuche Peak. Another vertical climb will take us to the last settlement with a few small tea houses called Gorakshep. Here, we will spend the night and prepare for our next day trip to the legendary Everest Base Camp.
Today, we will head to the Everest Base Camp- the highlight of our Everest Base Camp trek for beginners. The trail again runs along the Khumbu glacier, where there are a lot of rocks under our feet.
The uphill terrain is not that smooth, but we will overcome it easily. All of a sudden, many colorful tent camps will appear in front of our eyes, indicating we have arrived at the base camp. Nuptse, Lhotse, Khumbutse, and Pumori, along with Khumbu Icefall, will grant us their impressive views.
After maxing out our cameras, we will now head back to Gorakshep to rest.
The day to witness the mother of all Himalayas in its full glory has finally arrived. We will rise early in the morning to catch the sunrise as it emerges from behind Everest. The uphill trail, constituting the rocky, icy terrain, climbs steadily towards the peak of Kalapatthar.
From the summit, we can admire Everest, Khumbu glacier, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Lobuche, Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse sparkling bright in the first rays of the sun.
After admiring the highest peak of our planet up close and reflecting on the many fantastic stories that this mountain has given us, we will head down to Gorakshep and prepare for our journey back to Kathmandu.
At Gorakshep, a helicopter will give us a ride back to Lukla. You will literally be above the clouds enjoying the mountain glory of the massive Himalayas once again.
After arriving at Lukla airport, our helicopter will stop for refueling and then fly us back to Kathmandu Airport. From here, we will drive you to your hotel in Kathmandu.
Enjoy the free day in Kathmandu or rest in your hotel room, rejoicing on the extraordinary journey you have just completed. You can look around Kathmandu or go hiking in the Kathmandu valley for shopping or an ayurvedic massage- you truly deserve this!
We will relish a farewell dinner in one of the attractive Nepali restaurants in the evening, enjoying the live cultural program.
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Kathmandu hotel and drop you up at the international airport for departure.

We also operated private trips.
Officially, autumn (September to November) is considered the best time to hike to Everest Base Camp. There is less precipitation, and the weather is relatively balanced, which makes ascension to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar easier, especially for those who are doing it for the first time.
Spring (March to May) is the second best time for the Everest base camp trek as the temperature is higher and the days are longer. And the purple rhododendrons that bloom in April and early May make the routes even more beautiful.
Winter (December to February) brings harsh weather conditions, with temperatures often dropping to minus degrees Celsius at the base camp. The days are shorter, giving a very short timeline for ascent to Kalapatthar.
The rainy monsoon season (June-August) is not the most ideal for hiking. In such cases, the visibility is worse, the routes are muddy and slippery, and there is a greater chance of landslides.
At a staggering height of 5364 m above sea level, Everest Base Camp is not the highest point of our Everest Base Camp trek for beginners. The highest altitude we will reach during our trip is Kalapatthar, which stands at a massive 5548 m elevation. The highest elevation of our overnight destination is 5180 m at Gorakshep.
The Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar lie at the approximate distance of 200 to 300 km from Kathmandu. We, therefore, need to invest at least two weeks to complete this journey on foot.
Lukla, which is the starting destination for our trek, is at an aerial distance of 135 km and can be covered in a short half-hour flight. From Lukla, the remarkable Everest Base Camp is just 65 km away.
Since our program is designed for beginners, children, and older individuals, we will cover only 5 to 7 km each day on average.
Our Everest Base Camp trek for beginners involves 15 days of modern hiking with walks averaging 3 to 4 hours every day. Unlike the classic EBC trek, we don’t have strenuous long hikes, so each day of the hike presents ease and comfort.
In addition, we have strategically divided the significant day of our trek into two parts: first, we will ascend to EBC and spend the night in Gorakshep. Then, the next day, we will conquer Kalapatthar and fly to Kathmandu.
Our Everest Base Camp trek for beginners is classified as an average challenging expedition in the Khumbu region of Nepal. However, we have crafted our itinerary, integrating short and manageable walks each day so our bodies can gradually adapt to the high-altitude air.
We have also planned separate days for rest in between the treks. We will spend an extra day in Kathmandu so you can get acquainted with the Nepali atmosphere. We will have a second rest day at Namche Bazaar, followed by an acclimatization day at Dingboche, which we carefully planned to ease our approach to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar.
Therefore, our program is suitable for anyone who relishes an active lifestyle and enjoys good health.
In order to undertake our Everest Base Camp for beginners, you need not only physical preparation but also psychological readiness. Therefore, you should start training regularly with cardiovascular exercise (running, cycling, swimming) and strength training to strengthen muscles.
The best exercises to increase endurance are running and skiing. It is better to run long distances than often and a little. For example, three workouts a week is enough. Watch your pace and avoid overtiring! If possible, running on varied terrain with ups and downs is a great addition to your training.
Also, beginners need to pay special attention to leg training and endurance since the trip involves treks along the mountain slopes. Skiing is an ideal exercise that involves all muscle groups, plus the training takes place mainly in the fresh air.
As an alternate approach to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar, you can join our exclusive Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour. This exceptional program will take you to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar within 4 to 5 hours, where you will soar above the majestic mountains of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse and many more.
To give you an additional thrill, the program also includes a brief stop at Everest View Hotel- the tallest luxurious hotel in the world at 3880 m.
For those who want to experience ease, comfort, and trekking at the same time, we can also fly you to Lukla from Kathmandu by helicopter and bypass the domestic light.
Altitude sickness is one of the risks that you may encounter on our Everest Base Camp trek for beginners. This condition can be caused by a rapid rise in altitude without sufficient acclimatization or genetic characteristics of the body. We have, therefore, taken appropriate measures and routes so you can adapt to elevation changes well.
We have strategically planned our trek days with a gradual rise in altitude. We have included a few short high-altitude walks during the rest days, such as a hike to Everest View Hotel in Namche and climbing Nagarjun Hill at Dingbcohe.
In addition, we will have our highly experienced guide who will help monitor your condition and provide the necessary support in case of problems.
After all these measures, it is still possible that you may experience headaches, nausea, dizziness, insomnia, and fatigue. If so, please descend to lower elevations, drink enough water to stay hydrated, and help your body adapt to the altitude more quickly. Eat light, balanced meals rich in carbohydrates and proteins to maintain your body’s energy reserves. Avoid heavy, fatty foods, which can cause discomfort while climbing. Provide your body with adequate rest and sleep.
During your stay in Kathmandu, we offer you a delightful complimentary breakfast every morning. Throughout the trekking duration, we will provide you with nourishing breakfast, lunch, and dinner based on the lodge menu.
The lodges have a wide variety of choices, from international to authentic Nepali cuisine. Begin your morning with boiled or fried eggs, bread, porridge, or French Toast. For lunch and dinner, you can indulge in Dal, Vat, and Trakari (Lentil, Rice, and Vegetable), or Chowmen, Sherpa stew, Soup and Breads, Momos, pizza, or pasta.
There are many choices for beverages as well, from Masala tea, Tibetan Tea, and coffee to Himalaya beer, tonga, etc.
For our Everest Base Camp trek for beginners, we need to acquire a Sagarmatha National Park Permit and a Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit. We will acquire these permits on your behalf, and the associated cost has already been integrated into our tour package.
(Note: first aid kits & medicine will carrying with our company’s guide during the trekking However, we recommend you to bring your personal first-aid kit)
Our program is diligently prepared for new trekkers, families, children, and the elderly so they can carry out their hikes easily. Therefore, our program is quite long and takes place in a comfortable environment. The classic EBC trek, on the other hand, is designed for experienced hikers who can overcome long, strenuous walks all day. Therefore, their program length is y 5 or 6 da shorter than oursys.
If you are asking about the shower, it is possible during Everest Base Camp trekking. However, the hot water comes at an additional price. You can forget about daily showers and manage with wet wipes and hand sanitizer gel at high altitudes. Because of the chilly temperature, it is better to be satisfied with wipes than to suffer from hypothermia.
For our Everest Base Camp trek, please buy insurance that covers the expense of helicopter rescue and is valid at an altitude of above 5500 m. Also, keep in mind that your insurance covers medical bills, luggage loss, extra contingency days, and flight delays.
Please don’t carry unnecessary luggage as it is an extra burden on the porters and also on you. Also, the flight to Lukla has a weight limitation of 15 kg. So carry only essential equipment that is a must for this trek, such as:
Please refer to our included list, where we have detailed the gear we supply to our guests.
It is appropriate, expected, and customary for Nepali porters to receive tips at the end of the trekking. The exact amount of this can be adjusted to your individual possibilities, but basically, you should prepare with an amount of around 100-200 dollars. The tip is collected by the tour guide and distributed among porters and local tour guides.
