Managing DirectorI am Mingma Chhiri Sherpa, I was born in the Solukhumbu region into a family where mountain heritage runs deep. I spent my childhood, like many Sherpa kids, looking up to my father and wistfully following the tales of his climbs. I quietly wished time would hurry so that I could grow up quickly and join him. The chance came when I was old enough to first serve as a porter. From that first step, my path was set. My journey from porter to assistant guide, and then to lead guide, I found continuous fascination in the mountains and pride in guiding visitors from around the world. This passion naturally drew me to higher altitudes, where I ultimately became a climbing lead just as my father once was.
I obtained my mountain training from the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and guide training from the Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu. In addition to training on Basic Rescue and First Aid, I have also completed the Basic and Advanced training of 45 days each in the Annapurna Region.
My high-altitude experience features several of Nepal’s most renowned peaks, including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,814m), Mera Peak (6,476m), Island Peak (6,189m), Lobuche Peak (6,091m) and more. I have led countless successful expeditions especially to Mera Peak, Island Peak and Lobuche Peak and I am happy to say that returning clients will specifically request to have me take the lead again and regularly refer new climbers seeking a safe and rewarding experience.
Beyond my mountaineering expeditions, as a trekking guide, I have also covered many of Nepal’s diverse regions. This includes iconic routes in the Everest and Annapurna regions, the Langtang Valley, and also less demanding routes such as the Pikey Peak trek. My international experience is highlighted by a successful ascent of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s highest freestanding mountain.
15 years into this journey, my passion for the mountains is undiminished, and I remain dedicated to providing everyone who comes to me with an unforgettable Himalayan experience.
