This Viewpoint is an excellent site for the incredible sightings of Makalu, Baruntse, Island Peak, Chopola, Ama Dablam, Ambigetshen, Thamserku, Khankaru, Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche Peak, Nirukhang, and Amphu Laptse.
After enjoying the sight, we will now climb down to our lodge. En route, we will take a moment to explore the local Nangkartshang monastery.
We will continue our hike towards Lobuche today walking along the moraine of Khumbu glacier. Walking along the rugged trail, we will arrive at Dughla or Thukla where we will pause for lunch soaking in the impressive vistas of Taboche (6367 m) and Cholatse (6335 m).
Moving on, we will climb the steep slope to reach the top of Thukla Pass standing tall at the altitude of 4830 m. The summit of the pass is adorned with colorful prayer flags with piles of stones. This is a memorial site for those fearless climbers who lost their lives when engaging in a daring adventure in the Khumbu region.
We will also pray for the deceased soul and stop for a while to observe the beautiful views of Ama Dablam, Lobuche, and Lobuche Peak Base Camp.
Now, walking past the glacial stream, we will leave the Khumbu glacier behind and approach Lobuche where we will retire for the night.
We will depart from Lobuche early in the morning and hike across the Khumbu Glacier moraine. The tough climb will be made easy with the rewarding views of Everest’s northern slope, Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and many others before reaching Goraksherp.
Then the trail climbs for a while leading us to the Thangma Riju or Lobuche Pass which grants us a 360-degree view of high snow-capped peaks.
We will now overcome a steep climb across the Changri glacier from where we can watch for the first time the world-famous Kala Patthar resting at the foot of the magnificent Pumori peak.
Shortly, we will be at the last village of the Everest Base Camp trail, the Gorakshep. In the lodge, we will rest for our hot meal, then we will leave our backpacks and head towards Everest Base Camp.
Along the route, we will traverse the glacial rivers and snowy trails to climb the ridge that will lead us to the iconic base camp. Please do not expect to see Everest from here. Instead, you can marvel at the spectacular views of the Khumbu region, Nuptse, Lhotse, Khumbutse, and Pumori, along with the mesmerizing Khumbu icefall and glacier.

After some selfies, Instagram reels, and videos, we will climb down to our lodge at Goarkshep where we will celebrate with a hot breakfast. Then packing our bags, we will head down towards Lobuche, and Dughla to reach Pheriche.
We will leave Pheriche after breakfast and march down towards Pangboche. We will discover a different trail that we have bypassed at the initial stage of our Everest Base Camp trek.
