The first day of the Chitwan Jungle Safari will consist of traveling from Kathmandu to Chitwan. Traveling on a communal bus will take you to Chitwan in about 7 hours. We will get up, have our breakfast, get to the bus station, and take the earliest bus to Chitwan. If there are any preferences regarding your transportation to Chitwan, you should let us know before the start of the trip.

For example, you might want to opt for a flight instead of land transport. This can be arranged for you easily but it will cost you extra as flight fares are not included in the package.

You will surely miss something special if you don’t experience the unique culture, traditions, and people of Terai and Chitwan. The Tharu community is the oldest community living in that region, their cultural dance show will truly enchant you and make you feel the beat.

Through the village tour, you will even learn about their livelihood. There is also a famous Tharu museum with historical artifacts and exhibits of the Tharu people that you should check out.

We will explore Tharu villages in the morning and get back to our hotel to freshen up and have a filling lunch. After that, we will get on a ride back to Kathmandu. This will be the end of the Chitwan Jungle Safari.

How does our trip begin?

Your trip unofficially begins in Kathmandu. Arriving at the Kathmandu airport is an experience in itself as it is a scenic flight. You will be able to see the Khumbu region peaks as you enter the vicinity. After your arrival, you will get your tourist visa at the immigration booth at the airport.

You will not be allowed to leave the airport premises without having your tourist visa sorted out. To get your tourist visa, you will need a passport that is valid for at least 6 months, proof of accommodation, a correctly filled visa application form, a visa fee receipt, 2 passport-sized photos, and a printed barcode if you applied for a visa online.

You can apply for a tourist visa online prior to your flight to Nepal or you can simply fill the physical visa application form following your arrival at the airport.
