Standing 6,119 meters (20,075 ft) tall, Lobuche Peak climbing is a well-liked route summit. Lobuche East, a difficult climb in the Khumbu area, calls for technical know-how and advanced climbing abilities. The hike to Lobuche goes through the famous Everest Base Camp trail where you get the chance to walk in some of the most iconic landscapes in the Khumbu region.

We will begin our day early as we have a lot of traveling to do, so we will take you to the regional airport in Kathmandu right after breakfast. From here, we board a plane to Lukla Airport, which is located in Nepal’s Khumbu area. It’s conceivable that this area is among the most popular and often visited trekking destinations in Nepal.
Only during the off-season (December through February and June through August) are direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla conducted due to Air Traffic Congestion (ATC). Lukla is usually reached in about forty minutes and you can see Kongde Ri from the Hillary airport.
We take a route from Lukla that descends sharply to the Dudhkoshi River and then progressively climbs along a designated path to Phakding. Before we leave Lukla village, we will have to get our permit for Sagarmatha National Park and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality.
Your trek to Phakding is an easy trek with a view of Mt. Khumbila. And as we reach Thadakoshi village, we will be greeted with a view of Mt. Khusum Khangru. We will spend the night in Phakding, concluding our 3rd night of Lobuche Peak Climbing in Nepal.
We will be starting the day excitedly since we are headed to the center, Namche Bazaar. We will depart Phakding after breakfast and vanish into a forest of pines. Ahead are the shores of the Dudh Koshi River and a multitude of suspended bridges that will lead us to Sagarmatha National Park’s entrance.
Following the path, we will reach Jorsale village where we will take a lunch break. After lunch, a 30-40 minute walk will take us to reach Hillary Bridge from where we can see Mt. Tabuche (holy mountain). From there, we reach Topdanda in just an hour, which is one of the Everest viewpoints of the region, boasting views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and more.
The path from Phakding to Namche is a series of ups and downs. Although reaching the Lobuche top might be rather exhausting, the pure air, breathtaking vistas, and the challenge itself will motivate you to continue.
Our 5th day of Lobuche Peak Climbing in Nepal will be full of rest. Reaching Namche Bazaar is going to give us a significant height increase, so it’s an excellent choice to settle in and unwind there. The Namche Bazaar is teeming with bakeries, eateries with internet access, and a variety of stores, including ones that sell tools and gear for Lobuche peak climbing.
To make the most of our time, we will hike to Hotel Everest view. On the way there you can view a number of peaks such as Mt. Kongde ri, Khangtenpoche, Pherchermo, Tangerito, Samdur, etc. From the Hotel Everest view, you will get to see views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamsheru, Cholaste, Tabuche, Amadablam, etc.

An alternative is to take a day trip on foot to the charming town of Khumjung, the location where Sir Edmund Hillary constructed the renowned Khunde Hospital and his school to educate the children of the Himalayas.
After a leisurely day at Namche Bazaar, we will leave for the village of Phortse after having a filling breakfast of your choice. We will trek for about 6 hours, give or take, to reach Phortse, covering a distance of 12 km in the process.
Our first stop, Sanasa, will be easy to reach. However, the path becomes steep from Mongla Danda from where we have to ascend 1 hour 40 minutes. Before that, we will grab a quick lunch at Mongla Danda. Our next stop is Phorse Thaga from where the path will greatly descend for 35 minutes. We will talk along a slope to reach our final destination.
This route is a well-developed path, so you will not have any problem trekking it. In addition to that, we will visit a bunch of settlements and view gorgeous scenery throughout the route.
Starting our 7th day of Lobuche Peak Climbing, we will make our way to upper Pangboche. We travel to Pangboche village via a gorgeous route that offers views of the mountains and other gorgeous scenery. You will pass a number of mani walls, chortens, and other high-altitude communities as you continue.
From Phortse to Pangboche, it’s a 3-hour trek. Upon reaching Pangboche, we can see the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region. We will also see the Upper Pangboche village monastery where a Yeti Scalp is at display. From Pangboche, we continue along a track that leads to Pavel and eventually, Olga. Our lunch spot for the day is Shamare. From there it is an easy walk to Dingboche following the Imja River.
At 3900 meters above sea level, the community is situated in a striking area with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. We climb the Dingboche meadows while taking in the breathtaking vistas of mountains, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, and Mt. Lhotse.
Dingboche is often referred to as Summer Valley. Although it is completely engulfed in snow in the winter, it appears stunning in the summer when yaks are herding across the grasslands.
As we will have ascended to a significant altitude as per our Lobuche Peak Climbing itinerary, we will be acclimating for yet another time at Dingboche. We’ll offer advice on how to get settled in and enjoy your time at Dingboche to the fullest.

We’re going to traverse the valley wall slowly all day. We will shortly be at Thukla, at the base of the Khumbu Glacier, the world’s highest glacier.
Today, we will have to cross glaciers to reach our lunch spot at Dughla. From Dughla, we will trek to Thukla Pass, which provides us with a view of Amadablam, Lobuche Peak, and Lobuche base camp.
We continue on from here to the 4240-meter-high Trekkers’ Aid Post at Pheriche. We continue walking down the valley, crossing a few yak fields until we get to Lobuche. Marking the end of our 9th day of Lobuche Peak Climbing in Nepal, we will stay at Lobuche for the night.
There are some challenging areas of ice on our route to Gorakshep, the last town before reaching the EBC. We’ll keep going and keep an eye on the route until we locate Gorak Shep. We will climb toward the very close Everest Base Camp, leaving our bulky luggage at our lodge rooms.
The ascend will take about four hours in total. We will go to our objective by walking beside and beside the Khumbu glacier. The path is slick and uneven.
We will soon arrive at Everest Base Camp, a prominent location marked with prayer flags. We shall linger awhile, soaking in the atmosphere of the location. Then, we’ll take the same route back to Gorak Shep. It’s going to be a calming night in Gorak Shep as we end the 10th day of our Lobuche Peak Climbing trip.

We will then head back to Gorak Shep for our morning breakfast before departing for Lobuche. The same path that follows the glacier will be used for this descent. To get to Lobuche, it will take two to three hours of downward hiking.
We will depart Lobuche village for the Lobuche Peak base camp after a peaceful night. The trek is rather easy in the beginning as it follows a straight path. The track will eventually become rocky and steep. As we ascend, the route becomes increasingly challenging.
After navigating the Lobuche Glacier, we will be treated to a breathtaking panorama of Cholatse Peak and Thamserku. The walk will resume its upward trajectory. After 6-7 hours of walking, we will arrive at Lobuche Peak base camp.
After we get to the high camp, the guide and support teams set up the climbing ropes and get ready for any additional preparations needed for climbing. In the meantime, you might practice some climbing techniques to warm up for the Lobuche Peak Climbing phase.
We begin at about 1:00 a.m. Then, we ascend to the peak’s top by following our climbing leader’s route. We are going to start climbing to Lobuche Peak High Camp after having our breakfast. It’s going to be a four-hour tough and quick climb.
