It is in the morning that your amazing adventure of Lobuche Peak climbing 14 days starts with a scenic journey by air from Kathmandu to Lukla. The mountain flight of shorter duration is really memorable and provides an incredible experience of snow-capped Himalayan mountains and landing on the well-known Tenzing-Hillary Airport. Once the aircraft enters Lukla, you are greeted by breathtaking mountain views, including Kongde Ri, and this gives you a taste of what is to come in the adventure.
Upon arrival, you will join your local trekking crew and porters, who will help you with your luggage and arrangements. When everything is in place, you start going on the first hike into Phakding. The path goes through pine forests, on the bridges above the river Dudh Koshi, and into the great Sagarmatha National Park, which is unesco world herritage. In the process, we have lunch at the place called Jorsale and continue on to Hillary Bridge, at which we have the first glimpse of sacred Mt. Tabuche.

The Lobuche Peak Climbing trail that starts at Namche Bazaar goes through a picturesque route that offers stunning sceneries of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. The path is an easy uphill and downhill path through lovely pine and rhododendron trees to the Dudh Koshi River. A good uphill stroll after getting over a suspension bridge takes you to the quiet village of Tengboche.
Tengboche boasts of the old monastery, which is the biggest in Khumbu, with the beautiful backdrop of the Himalayan giants. This is the day that gives you an ideal combination of natural beauty, spiritual experience, and memorable mountain scenery as you approach your climbing experience.
Tengboche to Dingboche is one of the most picturesque days you spend during the Lobuche Peak climbing. The morning after viewing the beautiful mountain sceneries and soaking in the tranquil nature of the monastery in Tengboche, you leave the place. The path leads down through a pine and rhododendron forest to Debuche then via a suspension bridge across the Imja River.
The path then leads to a brief rest at Pangboche, which is one of the oldest Sherpa villages in the area, and then slowly ascends the mountain with stunningly close-up shots of Ama Dablam. You then proceed to Somare village, where you have lunch and rest and have a view of the mountain range.
The terrain is more open and dry in Somare as the elevation increases. The last uphill climb will lead to Dingboche which is a scenic village with stone walls and alpine expanses. It is a major acclimatization point, which will assist the adaptation of your body to the much higher level before you proceed with your Lobuche Peak Climbing trip.
Today, as a part of your Lobuche Peak Climbing itinerary, is a significant acclimatization day in Dingboche. As we already have considerable altitude, this rest day assists your body to get used to it correctly before proceeding up. The trail later begins to gain height after breakfast in a broad valley with spectacular views of the Ama Dablam, Thamserku and other mountains nearby. The higher you get, the drier, rockier, and more dramatic the landscape becomes.
You proceed on a slow and gradual procession towards Dughla (Thukla), take tea, or take a little rest, and then the steep ascent to Thukla Pass. On top of the pass, there are memorial stones that have been constructed to honor the memory of climbers who died in the Himalayas. It is based on this perspective that you can also have a clear view of the Lobuche Peak, the one standing majestically in the front, which gives you great reason to do the climb.
It takes a trail past some time in that place and then along the side of the Khumbu Glacier and unbelievable views of Nuptse and Pumori. The last way is a slow climb on rocky areas till you come to Lobuche village. On this day, you are getting closer to your summit destination and you are also physically and mentally ready to go on with the next phase of Lobuche Peak Climbing.
It is one of the most exciting days of your journey to climb the Lobuche Peak. Breakfast at Lobuche and then start the walk to Gorakshep, on the rocky road, along the side of the Khumbu Glacier. The trail is rough but provides excellent sceneries of Nuptse, Pumori and other ice structures.
In a couple of hours of constant movement, you arrive at Gorakshep, the final village on the way to the Everest Base Camp. This is where you arrive at your lodge, leave behind the heavy bags and have lunch as you relax and await the next hike.
And then, having lunch, you go on your way to the Everest Base Camp 5,364 m, crossing the moraines of the glaciers and various mountains. Being in the base camp is a very proud and also emotional experience; there are towering Himalayan mountains and the Khumbu Icefall that is very huge in size. Once you have spent a few hours taking pictures and enjoying the feat, you go back to Gorakshep, where you stay overnight.
This is one of the most memorable but long and difficult day of your Lobuche Peak Climbing adventure.
You also start your hike before sunrise in the morning, as early as possible, with the assistance of a headlamp, between Gorakshep and Kala Patthar. The ascending is slow, yet difficult because of the elevation and the cold weather. Slowly climbing up in the dark you can observe the stars sparkling above you, and the silence and beauty of the Himalayas all around you.
Once you have hit the peak of Kala Patthar, you are rewarded with one of the finest views of sunrise in the Everest area. When you have had enough sightseeing and you take some photographs, you meticulously start heading down to Gorakshep. After coming back, you have a nice hot breakfast at the lodge. This route then slowly goes down through the picturesque Khumbu Valley, traced across spacious alpine landscapes, rock walls and simple Sherpa villages. You go by suspension bridges across streams and rivers where you get the views of the nearby peaks such as Ama Dablam and Thamserku along that way.
The stroll is gradual yet rewarding in that your legs get to regain back the difficulty of the high altitude ascendancy. You have time to have tea or snacks in small teahouses along the way that are situated in such villages as Dingboche and Tengboche, enjoying the quietness of the Himalayan world.
At the end of the afternoon you come back to Namche Bazaar, the busy Sherpa centre. In this case, you can rest, sightsee in the surrounding shops and you can even have fun in cafes and shops following your exhausting yet successful Lobuche peak climbing adventure.
You start the journey to the descent of Lukla after your stay in Namche Bazaar, which will be the last part of your Lobuche Peak Climbing experience. The path follows the slow way down through rhododendron and pine woodland, with their scenic villages like Monjo and Phakding. You will cross a number of suspension bridges across the Dudh Koshi River on the way and you can listen to the rushing water and the serene view of the Himalayas.

Critical Notice: At the high trekking season (spring and autumn), flights to Kathmandu are occasionally diverted to Manthali because of weather or air traffic. Should this occur you will arrive at Manthali rather than Kathmandu and by road proceed 4-5hours in safety to Kathmandu. It is a natural process, and we will help you with the transfer and make sure that you have a good trip.

In spring, from March to May, and autumn, from September to November, are the best seasons for Lobuche Peak Climbing. In general, spring and autumn are recommended for safer and higher chances of success. Summer is considered too hot and the cold of winter is too harsh, with thick snow covering the peaks. Climbing is made increasingly difficult during the monsoon months, with added rain, clouds, and slippery paths.
Lobuche Peak Climbing for 14 days is technically a more difficult peak. It is more challenging than several other trekking peaks in Nepal because it also has vertical snow slopes, and sections with ice, as well as sections of the summit that require fixed rope climbing. On the trekking portion of the tour, you’ll be sleeping in local tea houses which offer simple, but cozy twin sharing rooms. At Lobuche High Camp, you’ll be staying in tents with the climbing crew providing full camping support. The tea houses provide meals like dal bhat, boiled noodles, and fried rice. They also have soups, potatoes, and eggs, as well as porridge and fried rice. Hot drinks like tea, coffee, and hot lemon are also available along the trekking route.
Staying well hydrated and eating nutritious meals is important during this trek, especially at high altitude, and at higher tea houses, the more basic the facilities become, but with local hospitality, the more warm the experience becomes.

To maximize your chances of a successful summit, you need good preparation. Start your training 2 to 3 months before your trip. It’s advisable to do some long cardio sessions, swimming and running while incorporating some building endurance for the long days of climbing. Hikes with weight, simulate, and 6 to 7 hours walking on a daily basis. It’s just as important to prepare for mentally as the summit will be a long and tiring day, so being mentally and physically fit will greatly improved chance of success.
All of the tea houses have electricity and charge devices like phones, cameras, and power banks for them for a small fee. However, as you gain elevation, charging options may be limited. In some of the larger villages like Namche Bazaar, you can access an Internet Service Provider (ISP), but this won’t be the case at higher altitudes. The internet may be slow and you may not have internet access at all. Please inform your family and friends of the poor communication prior to the trip.
Your own expenses are not accounted for in the main climbing package. Hot showers, battery charging, drinks, snacks, laundry, personal climbing gear rental, guide/porter tips, etc., are all optional expenses. Bring some cash as card payment options are not available on the trekking route.
