Luxury island peak climbing with heli return is stunning, reasonably accessible, and well worth the effort if you’re looking for an ascent in the Himalayas. Climbing a 6000-meter peak in Nepal is a difficult but incredibly rewarding activity that provides a rare chance to take in the breathtaking Himalayan scenery, become fully immersed in the native way of life, and summit a beautiful peak. Our luxury island peak climbing package offers you just that.
The mountain is not to be confused with a simple trekking peak; proper planning and qualified guides are needed. With a heavily glaciated west slope that rises from the Lhotse glacier, the peak is intriguing and beautiful. The summit is really an extension of Lhotse Shar’s Island Peak South Ridge. Beyond this location, a ridge rises southward to the peak of Island Peak.
The conventional path of ascent includes a continuation of this ridge that descends southwest, which ultimately reaches the South Summit.
Island Peak, also called Imja Tse, offers one of the most breathtaking views of the Himalayas in the whole wide world, and it is also a fun ascent. When viewed from the top, the enormous mountains Lhotse (8501 m), Nuptse (7879 m), Lhotse Shar (8383 m), and Lhotse Middle Peak (8410 m) form a semicircular shape in the northeast. Ascending Island Peak is made much more appealing by the vistas of Amadablam and Baruntse to the south and Makalu (8475 m) to the east.
With our Luxury island peak climbing with heli return package, you will be able to see all those views without having to worry about descending later. Here’s a detailed written version of our incredible package, which should help you decide to take this tour.

You will spend time acclimatizing for the rest of the day, so the journey will be brief and delightful. You may spend your free afternoon exploring the nearby monasteries in Phakding and getting ready for the upcoming strenuous hike.
The trek starts getting exciting from the entryway to the Sagarmatha National Park, where the day’s hike drops you. We will trek for only 3 hours this day.

Starting the day off early, we will have our breakfast and start our trek to Pangboche. Today’s trek starts with a walk along the Dudh Kosih riverbed for a while before crossing a suspension bridge. Following a straightforward trail, we will reach Tengboche by lunchtime.
After being re-energized by our lunch, we will visit the Tengboche monastery, the largest gompa in the Khumbu region. Approximately 350 years ago, the Khumbu region, which includes Tengboche, was influenced by Buddhism. Through his prophetic vision, Lama Sangwa Dorje foretold the founding of a gompa in the village of Tengboche.
In 1916, Lama Gulu received instructions from Ngawang Tenzin Norbu, the 5th avatar of Sangwa Dorje, to establish Tengboche Monastery. It developed into the very first celibate gompa in the Vajrayana Buddhist Nyingmapa tradition. Along with being a significant Buddhist cultural center, Tengboche also boasts views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku, Towche (holy mountain), and more.
After taking a break, we will resume our trek. It will take us a total of 6 to 7 hours to reach Pangboche, covering a total distance of 15.1 km. We will spend the night in Pangboche, which will mark the end of our 6th day of Luxury island peak climbing.
The hike into the Imja Valley from Pangboche is rather easy. The valley opens up progressively as we get closer to the Lobuche River’s junction. When we arrive in Dingboche, we are welcomed by a stunning array of farmland surrounded by stone walls that shield potatoes, barley, and buckwheat from cattle and sheep and the chilly weather.
We go on uphill to upper Pangboche, passing by little settlements, mani walls, and several shrines. Following the path, we will reach Shamare where we will take a break for lunch.
The trail to Dingboche, following the Imja River, is easy and offers breathtaking views of the summit of the Island peak. Prayer flags waving in the wind decorate the trail that leads to the historic Nagarjung Palace, which was formerly a Buddhist monk’s sanctuary. As we persevere through that trail, we are rewarded with expansive vistas of the basin and the mighty Himalayas from this viewpoint.
